Pawsitive Behaviours offers group training courses for Puppies 8-16 weeks old, Tweens, Teen and Adult Dogs. No matter where you are at with your training there is a group class for you. We offer a progression approach for those who want to keep at it! All group classes with Pawsitive Behaviours are held in Te Horo Beach.
Puppy Play and Train | 8-16 weeks old | $180 incl GST
The most important class your dog will ever attend.
These classes are for puppies aged 8-16 weeks that are up to date with vaccinations. Socialisation and exposure in safe and positive environments is the most important part of puppyhood and the focus of our Puppy Classes. Prior to the in-person sessions you will have access to a prerecorded video packed full of practical and useful information to get you started with your new puppy. This, plus the 4 in-person classes, is designed to guide you through the socialisation period and get you started on basic puppy training to help produce a well rounded dog. The recording is approximately 90 minutes and the 4 in-person classes are 45-60 minutes each. The price includes both the recording and the classes as well as comprehensive notes and training cards

Tweens | 17 weeks – 11 months old | $160 incl GST
These classes are the perfect follow on from Puppy Play and Train or for those who missed out on puppy classes. Following well-rounded socialisation comes basic cues/commands. These classes are centred around teaching the basics – down, leave, drop, stay, wait and so on. Perhaps of most benefit is you will not only learn how to train these but also how they are applicable to every day life. Prior to the in-person sessions you will have access to a prerecorded video all about how dogs learn and how we train them to prepare you for the in-person classes. The recording is approximately 60 minutes and the 4 in-person classes are 60 minutes each. The price includes both the recording and the classes as well as comprehensive notes and training cards

Teens | 9 months – 1 year 11 months old | $160 incl GST
Pre-requisite: to have completed Puppy Play and Train, Tweens and/or In-Home Training
Teenagers.. am I right? Teenager dogs can really test us and for lots of reasons. There can be some push back, button pushing, mis-interpreted fear and painted on ear! This age range is the best time to get back into your training. These classes are designed to help you through these trialing times, focusing on lead manners, training around distractions, confidence building, mental stimulation and preventing reactivity. Prior to the in-person sessions you will have access to a prerecorded video all about teenage dogs and why they can behave in their teenagery ways and how prepare for the in-person classes. The recording is approximately 60 minutes and the 4 in-person classes are 60 minutes each. The price includes both the recording and the classes as well as comprehensive notes and training cards

Adult Dogs Level 1 | 2 years old and over | $160 incl GST
Keep going with your training! Whether you have completed classes with Pawsitive Behaviours or not, you can join our group classes from Adult Dogs Level 1. These classes will assess both yours and your dogs skills with cues like stay, leave, wait, sit, down, come and walking on the lead all around, but with some distance, distractions! Handling, trick training and understanding dog body language are a part of these classes too. Sophie will teach how to train these behaviours or identify how your dog is feeling and there will be an assessment to show competency to pass the classes and progress to the next level. Prior to the in-person session you will have access to a prerecorded video about training with adult dogs and some key considerations to prepare you for the in-person classes. The recording is approximately 60 minutes and the 4 in-person classes are 60 minutes each. The price includes both the recording and the classes as well as comprehensive notes and training cards
Next class starts: Sunday 8th March 4pm
Adult Dogs Level 2 & 3 | $140 incl GST
*Pre-requisite: to have completed Level 1, (or Tweens by Sophie’s Approval)
Level 2 & 3 advance on Level 1 to really build your dogs ability to follow through with instructions and cope well around distractions. These classes also include calm introductions (or no introductions!) with people and other dogs, preparing for full vet examinations, having fun together through play and trick training. These classes are assessment based to advance to the next level and receive your certificate. There are 4 in-person class of 60 minutes each.
